KWC 2010 Details Released

KWC.fi announced today that the Karaoke World Championships 2010 will be held in Moscow, Russia.

Amateur singers from around the world have the chance to compete in their local trials for the chance to represent their country at the international finals.

The Australian Trials commence in February, 2010 with the Australian National Grand Final on Sat. 24th July, 2010.

The Australian champion will win a return trip to Moscow with 5 nights accommodation and AU$2000.00 spending money to compete in the international finals. They'll also win prizes from Club Crocodile Airlie Beach and Capital Karaoke.

In the five years Australia has competed, we've won three gold, one silver and another top five placing.

Australia's KWC 2009 Champ Helps Raise Funds For Samoan Tsunami Fundraiser

Australia's Karaoke World Champion, 2009, Dina Bit-David, will be performing this Thursday to help raise money to help affected areas of the recent Samoan tsunami -

Countdown To KWC 2010 Now On

After winning the silver medal at the international finals of the Karaoke World Championships in Lahti, Finland, the search to find Australia's next Karaoke World Champion begins in February 2010.

Heats will be held in venues around the country. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be up for grabs with the winner heading overseas to represent Australia at the international finals.

Australia's 2008 Champ, Michael Bates will perform this Sunday for Vietnam Veterans' Day - Aug 16, 2009

As the youngest person to ever perform on Vietnam Veterans' Day, Michael Bates has big shoes to fill.

Hosted by the ABC's Peter Goer, the show also features entertainment by comedian Dave Flanagan, 60s/70s band, The Boomers, the Rosie Clark Dancers & Big Pretzel and the Go Go Dancers.

The day begins at 8.30am in the Torrens Parade Ground with a Gunfire Breakfast. The march begins at 10.30am from the cnr North Terrace and Gawler Place down King William Street before a service at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Torrens Parade Ground at 11.00am. Entertainment begins shortly after at approx. 11.30am with Michael Bates performing at 12.30pm.

Australia's New Karaoke World Champion

The crown of KWC Australia went to Dina Bit-David, delivering a sizzling hot rendition of 'Rescue Me’ followed by the timeless classic, ‘I Will Always Love You’. Dina will travel to Finland in September to represent Australia at the Karaoke World Championships international finals. Her prize package includes a return trip to Finland, 5 nights accommodation with AU$2000.00 spending money, 12” powered speakers, a Sound Choice DVD Karaoke player, 2 microphones and discs from Capital Karaoke and 5 nights at Club Crocodile Airlie Beach.

The evening program of the 11 national finalists saw a glittery of talented and beautifully dressed divas grace the stage with only one thorn amongst the roses – yes, only one bloke in the mob folks. Dan Crossley, representing the ACT, shone through, taking second place with his clear and well presented evergreen, ‘Unchained Melody’ and a powerful Robbie Williams’ delivery of ‘Let Me Entertain You’. Third place went to the Shania Twain of the Northern Territory, Jodi-Lee Jessop with her 'strut yer stuff' antics in Shania’s, ‘I’m Outta Here’ and the Cranberries’ classic, ‘Zombie’.

After 6 months of national trials, 11 lucky finalists will take to the stage to battle it out for the chance to represent Australia at the Karaoke World Championships in Finland.

Last year's Australian champion, Michael Bates, walked away with the international title and a recording deal. He will perform his upcoming single, 'Tell Me' at the Australian National Grand Final on Saturday, 1st August at the Middle Showroom, Ferntree Gully.

Latest Round Of Venue Final Champions

Congratulations to the latest round of venue finalists who have secured a place in a State Final. The winner of each interstate State Final will win a trip to Melbourne to compete in the Australian National Grand Final. The winner of the Victorian State Final will win $300.00.

The ultimate Australian National Grand Final winner will head off to Finland in September to represent Australia at the international finals in Lahti, Finland. Last year's Australian champion, Michael Bates, took out the world title and secured a record deal plus thousands of dollars in cash. He is awaiting the release of his first single, 'Tell Me'.

Northern Territory State Final 2009 Results

Congratulations to Jodi-Lee Jessop, the winner of the Northern Territory State Final of the Karaoke World Championships 2009.

Jodi-Lee competed against 12 other singers at the Palmerston Tavern last night for the chance to represent the Northern Territory in the Australian National Grand Final in August.

Jodi-Lee has won a return trip to Melbourne with two nights accommodation to attend the Australian national final plus prizes from Capital Karaoke and Club Crocodile Airlie Beach. The KWC 2009 NT State Final Champion trophy now also adorns her mantelpiece.

Alan ‘Bird’ Huddleston placed a very close second winning a prize from Capital Karaoke and the runner up trophy.

The Australian National Grand Final will be held at the Middle Showroom in Ferntree Gully on Sat. August 1, 2009 at 8.00pm.

KWC Australian Trials 2009 Officially Begins


The search to find Australia's next Karaoke World Champion officially gets underway with the first heats starting this weekend.

Singers will have the opportunity to enter the competition at a variety of venues around the country. The competition will be held in venues at various times over the next few months.

The ultimate Australian champion will win a trip to Finland including return airfare, 5 nights accommodation and AU$2000.00 spending money to represent Australia at the international finals of the Karaoke World Championships in September, 2009.

Australia's 2008 Champion, Michael Bates, walked away with the title in October last year, winning thousands of dollars in cash and a recording deal.

State Finals will be held through June & July with the Australian National Grand Final taking place on Sat. 1st August, 2009 at the Middle Showroom, Ferntree Gully, Victoria.

KWC Australian Trials 2009

The countdown is on! The national search to find Australia's next representative at the Karaoke World Championships begins in February, 2009. The new Australian Champion will find themselves singing their way to Lahti, Finland in September to compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
As featured in this month's Readers Digest Australia (January), the Karaoke World Championships is the world's largest and most prestigious international karaoke competition.
The Australian prize package alone includes thousands of dollars in cash, a trip to Finland including return airfares and 5 nights accommodation, interstate weekend flight and accommodation packages, Club Crocodile Airlie Beach holidays, Capital Karaoke systems & gear, trophies and the title of Karaoke World Champion Australia 2009.
